Re: Posting guidelines and NSFW images

I think the simple answer is when at work do your work.

Work is no place for slurping

Re: Posting guidelines and NSFW images

There's always a few minutes of downtime between running queries or while downloading a program to a device to glance at the email, and the email is filled up with gameslurp notifications...

Not to mention how many of us have kids at home and we wouldn't want them to see such things either, so it's also "NSFH".

Re: Posting guidelines and NSFW images

NSFW is just the commonly used acronym. It's not entirely accurate. That stuff is also NSFPS (Not safe for public spaces) NSFH (Not safe for home) NSFPC (Not safe for polite conversation) and NSFA (Not safe for anywhere).

Re: Posting guidelines and NSFW images

Let me put this another way. #Os/2 on EFnet used to call #os/2 on Undernet a "Yuppie Juice Bar." They obviously meant it as a slam, but most of us in undernet didn't mind.

Imagine most gaming sites on the internet as the seediest dives of rat-hole bars in the worst part of town. People are regularly assaulted with chairs, pool cues, and fistfights break out regularly.

Gameslurp is more like a casual dining establishment. No real dress code, but you're not expecting a fight to break out at the drop of a hat. Cursing is looked down on, but not against the rules. Alcohol may be served, but not everyone is there to drink themselves into a stupor.

Which one would you recommend to friends? Which one would you take your kids to?

Now imagine two people wander over from the seedy dive, ratty leather jackets, beards down to their navels. The place is perfectly fine with this, they get a table, order their food and drinks. They drink too much beer, they start loudly grabbing random people at other tables and impressing on them how much better it is to have a beard, and when people say that they don't mind shaving, the two guys call them shills for Gillette. They burp loudly in people's faces, they bump other people's meals off tables, and generally disturb the peace.

Finally one of them jumps on top of another person's table, rips their pants off, starts dancing on someone else's table around while calling everyone else a jerk...

As they're being escorted out by security, one of them yells that they're being discriminated against because they have beards...

Re: Posting guidelines and NSFW images

Many people browse the site at work. Regardless, the site can be viewed by minors, so no inappropriate stuff will be allowed.

If in doubt refer to our terms of use - they're not negotiable, or likely to change any time soon.

And on that note, I think this thread can be closed.
