Re: Razer drop the ball

Interesting. I use a black mouse pad with my laser mouse and it works fine. Normally I buy lighter colored mouse pads because optical mice are more energy efficient with lighter surfaces, but it didn't seem to matter with the laser mouse...

Is the mouse pad glossy black? Mine is more of a matte cloth covered black mouse pad.

Re: Razer drop the ball

The mouse matt he has is a Razer exact mat the same one that I have

I wouldnt say it was shiny as such, I have had mine for past 2 years and never had a problem, used 2 Logitech laser mice both of them have been fine.

Silly silly Razer.

Re: Razer drop the ball

The IR measuring devices we use on some of our projects have had issues with glossy black surfaces. The glossy surface disperses the light and the dark surfaces absorb it so the result is a significant loss in return signal strength. Its a bigger issue when mixing with other colored surfaces.

You sure that the mouse isn't faulty?

Huh. Yeah, that sounds like it might be a problem with the mouse... I've actually seen pictures of people using other razer mice with matte black pads like that. Has he contacted their tech support?

Re: Razer drop the ball

Why not just get the Logitech G500? I think those are better...

Good but not better imo.

I'm getting the Razer Mamba and Sphex surface skin for my new PC build.

Mamba
Sphex

It's not faulty we tried it on other pc's he is now using it on his old mouse matt, at first I thought it was Windows 7 as we both have that and the PC it worked on was running XP, ned later found out what the problem was and that explains why it worked on the XP machine, no Razer exact mat lol.

Check this vid, this guy called Razer support to tell them about it and I think they were in a state of disbelief so asked him to make a vid of the problem

The comments are mixed it works for some, bad performance for others and fail for the rest, it's still a good mouse tho maybe they should alert people about it until they have nailed the problem.
