Game price tracking comparison sites

That show you which retailers have the best prices for each game.

Are the ones out there any good? Any of you use any on a regular basis? Which ones are the best and what makes them stand out?

I reckon our name lends itself very well to a games comparison tracking type site

Re: Game price tracking comparison sites

gamestracker.com - I've used this site for several years where you can also add a list of games you want to be notified about when there's a price drop. You can also specify if the price drops under a certain amount. It covers some countries outside of UK too.

find-game.co.uk - This is another site I discovered a few years ago and provides a good list of results. It also provides alerts but it appears you must specify an amount.

You gonna set up a similar site?

The site I'm currently working on sends out a bot to check content of a site, which got me thinking about it for here. Our name just lends itself to that sort of site very well. The other thing our name goes well with is a site that slurps up (the best?) news, but that would require people to vote etc and I think people just don't have the time these days. A site that slurps up the best prices could be mostly automatic - after the painstaking work of setting up each retailer (perhaps via their API) is done.

We could still have the forums, perhaps at forum.gamslurp.com

What do you think? Reckon there's any call for another game price tracking site?

Hmmm that's a good point - I use it too and almost always forget about the price comparison websites. Would people remember to use it?

Re: Game price tracking comparison sites

Maybe work on something like a sidebar that takes the top 5 games from a published chart and provide price tracking on those? If that works as a prototype and is popular then you could expand it?

Re: Game price tracking comparison sites

What type of sidebar do you mean Jotch? For current GS or something that can be added to a browser or OS?

I was thinking if it was the GS front page it would list the 10 (or 20) most searched games (so kinda like a chart).

Yeah a sidebar like Amazon have, whilst you're browsing certain section say movies, it has the most popular, the highest reviewed, etc.

Re: Game price tracking comparison sites

Ah right gotcha.

I will have a look around and see if there would be much call for a site like that. Worried that most people use google shopping for finding the cheapest supplier now (I know I do )
